Fourth-year students of the specialty "International economic relations" of Odessa National I.I.Mechnikov University have successfully completed the module on cooperation between Ukraine and the EU, which was taught by the experts of the EU Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine (EUBAM) (http://eubam.org/).
From 2018, at the Faculty of Biology of the Odessa I.I. Mechnykov National University opened a set for a new specialty - 206 «Landscape gardening» for the preparation of specialists of the first (Bachelor) level of higher education. Graduates will receive an educational qualification - a Bachelor of landscape gardening. The term of study - 3 years 10 months. Licensed volume - 60 people.
Students of the Odessa National University took part in the Seminar for Democracy "MehrWERT Demokratie" in Bavaria on 13-24 November, 2017. The program of the seminar was very interesting, including workshops, presentations and case studies devoted to the values of democracy, meeting the mayor of the city Regensburg, visits to the parliament of the Bavaria in Munich and other. Training program by Professor Jason David Hans, Fulbright Academic Exchange Program Scholarship in Ukraine, for the academic year 2017-2018
During the entire 2017/2018 academic year, at the invitation of the Department of Social and Applied Psychology (ONU) Jason GANS, editor-in-chief of the journal “Family Science Review”, professor of the Department of Family Studies at the University of Kentucky (USA), Fulbright program winner, teaches classes in English for doctoral students, graduate students, masters and students of ONU in the direction of "Scientific Research", and for teachers - a scientific and methodological seminar "Publications of research results in foreign journals."

On October 24, 2017 two linguistic centres were opened at the Faculty of Romance & Germanic Philology. One of them was created with the participation of the Francophone University Agency, and the other was created by our university.
Starting October 20, at the Institute of Mathematics, Economics and Mechanics of Odessa National I.I. Mechnikov University there will be series of lectures conducted by experts from the European Union’s Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine (EUBAM) (http://eubam.org/) about modern customs techniques and how the EU-Ukraine Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area is affecting the customs function in the country.
The XIV Congress of the Society of Ukrainian Microbiologists with the participation of ukrainian and foreign scientists was held by Odessa I.I. Mechnikov National University from 11 to 15 September 2017. More than 200 microbiologists, virologists, biotechnologists from Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Italy, Moldova, and Belarus attended the Congress.
International scientific conference "Reading A.Browner's memory" on "Animals in the modern world: environmental and social aspects" will be held in October 3-4, 2017 at Odessa University.

European Network Remembrance and Solidarity (more about us: enrs.eu) is launching a recruitment process for an ongoing educational project called In Between?, (more about the project: www.enrs.eu/inbetween) which aims to encourage the young generation of Europeans to explore 20th-century history by speaking with those who lived it. Participants are given a unique opportunity to gain theoretical and practical experience in documenting oral stories.
