The competition aims to engage teams of young scientists who work or study at universities or research institutions of the Ministry of Education and Science. The projects are expected to include those who meet the definition of young scientists provided in the Law of Ukraine "On Scientific and Scientific-Technical Activities" [https://zakon.rada.gov.ua/laws/show/848-19#Text].

Deadline for project submission: October 24, 2023.

The results of the competition will be announced by December 22, 2023.

From June 20 to July 12, 2022, Odesa Mechnikov National University holds the XVII International Summer School “Molecular Biology, Biotechnology and Biomedicine”.

Within the Summer School framework from June 20 to June 25 a laboratory course“Cloning, Protein Expression and Purification” is planned, if possible. The number of participants is limited. Working language is English.

From 22 June to 3 July 2021 Odesa Mechnikov National University hold XVI International Summer School “Molecular Biology, Biotechnology and Biomedicine”.

In the Summer School activities will be performed reports of modern achievements of biology, biotechnology by leading scientists from Ukraine, Argentine, Netherlands, USA, Sweden, Poland, France, Spain,Germany.

Over 1 Million Euro from the European Union is directed to development of new approaches in diagnostic and treatment of tuberculosis within a network project entitled Innovation in Tuberculosis - INNOVA4TB. The grant comes from Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Horizon 2020-RISE program.

The project is a network that joins academic institutions, hospitals, research centers and companies from six countries: Spain, Ukraine, Moldova, Sweden, Germany and Chile. INNOVA4TB consortium is multinational and contributes to the integration of ONU in the global scientific community. Project members will visit each other’s organizations, work together, exchange and generate new skills and knowledge in several areas connected to tuberculosis diagnostics and treatment. Moreover, this collaboration will strengthen the interaction of academic and non-academic institutions inside of Ukraine seeing that ONU will be involved in cooperative research with Odessa Regional Center for Socially Dangerous Diseases.

December 7th and 8th UMSA-Odesa jointly with the Student Council of the ONU of the Faculty of Biology and with the support of Social Justice organized on the basis of the Odessa National University named after I. I. Mechnikov lectures from the famous molecula.club for medical students and biologists.  The topic of the lecture was pre-selected by voting more than a hundred listeners, and for a pleasant coincidence, the choice fell on the main field of scientific activity Elie Metchnikoff - was chosen precisely the immunological block of the cycle.

Victor Dosenko and Yuri Zhigarev will come to Odessa to tell us about one of the most mysterious systems of our body - immunity. What is it like? Who are those antigens? What did Ralph Steinman get the Nobel Prize for? And about many other things, look at the screen of 27 audiences at the Faculty of Biology of the ONU. Mechnikov on Friday and Saturday this week!

Friday, 30.11.18 successfully passed the lecture, where we were able to dispel myths about HIV, talked about the origin, structure, diagnosis and modern treatment methods.
