The Faculty of Romano-Germanic Philology is one of the most powerful faculties of Odesa I.I. Mechnikov National University. Since 1960, it has been an integral part of the famous university, a leader in the field of higher education and science in Southern Ukraine.

Today the Faculty of Romance-Germanic Philology:

• consists of 10 departments, where 167 teachers work (including 15 doctors of science and 118 PhDs), who readily share their knowledge with 1,250 students;
• carries out training of specialists of the first (bachelor), second (master) and third (PhD) levels of education in the following specialties:

• creates an opportunity to expand the educational range of students for further successful employment of its graduates thanks to the introduction of new modern elective disciplines;
• provides training of scientific personnel: postgraduate and doctoral programs operate at the faculty, the Specialized Academic Council D41.051.02 for the defense of doctoral theses is constantly active, one-time Academic Councils for the defense of candidate theses (PhD) are regularly established;
• provides an opportunity for students to participate in international academic mobility programs "Erasmus +" and others. in such countries as: Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Greece, Austria, the Czech Republic, Poland, Finland, Turkey and the USA;
• promotes the realization of creative and sports ambitions of students: traditional holidays are held at the faculty: Freshman's Day, Department Day, Faculty Day, Phonetics Day, Readers' Competition, Mechnikov Fest and others.

Graduates of the faculty become scientists, teachers of secondary and higher education institutions, employees of state institutions and enterprises of various forms of ownership, work as translators in leading companies of Ukraine and the world, work in mass media and press centers.
