Biography:

• 1987-1992 - Odessa National Mechnikov University, Faculty of Philology, graduated with a degree in Russian language and literature.
• 1990-1991 - studied at the English Department of the Academic University, Canada.
• 1991-1994 - Odessa National Mechnikov University, Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology, graduated with a degree in English language and literature (with honors).
• 1992-1996 - completed postgraduate study at Odessa National Mechnikov University, defended his thesis "Typology of mythopoetic motives in F.M. Dostoevsky’s works ("Mistress ","Idiot", "Crime and punishment", "Teenager")", specialty 10.01.02. - Russian literature (1996).
• 1996-2000 - Assistant Professor of Literary Theory and Comparative Studies Chair, Odessa National Mechnikov University.
• 2001-2002 - Visiting Scholar, Department of Comparative Literature, Pennsylvania State University, PA, USA.
• 2002-2014 - Associate Professor of Theory of Literature and Comparative Studies Chair, Odessa National Mechnikov University.
• Since 2015 has been working as an Associate Professor of Foreign Literature Department at Odessa National Mechnikov University.

 Teaching activities:

• Myth in modern literature and culture;
• Poetics;
• European literature of the XVII-XVIII centuries;
• Contemporary American Literature (1946–2000).

Awards:

• 2018 - winner of the M. Voloshin Prize for Fidelitas
• 2010 - winner of the K. Paustovsky Prize in 2010 for На дорогах Луны (the first city in the Prose category)

Major spheres of scientific interest: Myth in modern culture, poetics, literary modernism.
