Biography

• In 1997 graduated with honours from Odessa I.I. Mechnikov National University, Faculty of Romance-Germanic Philology, majoring in the English language and literature.
• Since 1997 to the present has been working at the Department of Foreign Languages for Humanities.
• In 2006 defended PhD thesis on “Emotional potential of the concept Vampire in the English language and speech (linguo cognitive research based on dictionaries and texts)”, speciality 10.02.04 – German languages in the Specialized scientific council K.41.051.02 at Odessa I.I. Mechnikov National University.
• In 2008 was awarded the academic title of associate professor of the Department of Foreign Languages for Humanities at Odessa National I.I.Mechnikov University.

Training Programmes and Certificates:

• In 2015 successfully completed the 38-hour EAP & ESP Teacher Development Course, British Council Ukraine.
• In 2016 successfully completed the 70-hour English for Academics course, British Council Ukraine.
• In 2017 successfully completed the Professional Award in Teacher Development (6 credits), British Council Ukraine.
• In 2017 delivered the 70-hour ESP course as a teacher trainer at the Winter and Summer Schools on the British Council English for Universities project, British Council Ukraine.

• Course in “Theory & Practice of Translation: Lexical Approaches”.

Major spheres of scientific interest:  cognitive linguistics, linguistics of the text, applied linguistics, ESP methodology.
