of the student scientific circle “Hellenistic Studies”
during 2022-2023 academic year

1. OCTOBER

Constituent conference on the creation of a circle, definition of its purpose, plans and schedule of work. The following decisions were made:

• to create a student scientific circle “Hellenistic Studies”, members of which can become all undergraduate and graduate students of Odesa I. I. Mechnikov National University, who are studying Modern Greek;
• to hold regular meetings of the circle once a month during the academic year.

2. NOVEMBER

The meeting with the members of the student circle was dedicated to the Greek national holiday “Day of OHI”:

• group viewing of a documentary film “'ΕΜΕΙΣ ΟΙ ΕΛΛΗΝΕΣ' 7 - Ο ΕΛΛHΝΟΪΤΑΛΙΚΟΣ ΠΟΛΕΜΟΣ (1940-1941)” about the Italo-Greek war (1940-1941);
• discussion and analysis of historical events in Modern Greek.

3. MARCH

Preparation for the celebration of the Greek Independence Day:

• Coordination of the rehearsal before the video shooting, in which students of the 4th year took part, namely: Ivanchenko Mykita, Korobchuk Maksim, Palamarchuk Dmytro, Panikar Katerina & Riapolov Serhii, who study Modern Greek at the Faculty of International Relations, Political Science and Sociology of Odesa Mechnikov National University;
• Filming of the sketch video “Live portraits / Ζωντανεμένα πορτραίτα” within the framework of participation in a flash mob on the occasion of the Greek national holiday (URL: https://www.facebook.com/snigovska/videos).

4. APRIL

Preparation for the benefit evening dedicated to the 160th anniversary of the birth of the Greek poet Konstantinos Kavafis, in cooperation with the Central City Library named after Ivan Franko. The rehearsal was attended by students of the 1st and 2nd years who study Modern Greek at the Faculty of International Relations, Political Science and Sociology of Odesa I. I. Mechnikov National University, namely: Hervasii Olha, Ivushkin Glib, Kuzmenko Sofia, Tkachenko Daria, Yakubovska Daria.

5. MAY

A benefit evening dedicated to the 160th anniversary of the birth of the Greek poet Konstantinos Kavafis, held at the Central City Library named after Ivan Franko on May 3, 2023, under the auspices of the Consulate General of Greece in Odesa, as well as with the support of the Secretary General for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy of the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs by Mr. Ioannis Chrysoulakis. 6. MAY / JUNE

Preparation of members of the scientific circle for the International scientific and practical conference “Image of Ukraine: Socio-Political Representations and Linguistic Reflection of Military Realities in Foreign and Domestic Media”, scheduled for June 15-16, 2023. The following students of the Faculty of International Relations, Political Science and Sociology of Odesa I. I. Mechnikov National University, who are studying Modern Greek, were involved in the conference, namely: Borovyk Daria, Hervasii Olha, Gernstein Artur, Кuzmenko Sofia, Lavro Viktoria, Romanov Pylyp, Riapolov Serhii, Tkachenko Daria, Cherepenko Yevhen, Yakubovska Daria.
