According to Professor Volli KALM, the purpose of his visit is to visit the universities of Ukraine due to the fact that in the university community of Estonia there is considerable interest in cooperation with colleagues from Ukraine. In Estonia there is no full awareness of the events in Ukraine, and there is some alertness about this situation. Despite this, Professor Volli KALM has a very positive impression of Odessa, Odessa citizens and ONU Mechnikov, in particular.
The University of Tartu is one of the oldest in Estonia, it is known to the scientific community by its outstanding scientists, in particular, the professor-linguist Yuri LOTMAN. The University of Tartu is a member of many European university communities, among them LERU - League of European Research Universities. In this connection, Professor Volli KALM expressed interest in attracting ONU Mechnikov to the activities of this League.
