In his welcome word the pro-vice chancellor professor Steve Rothberg expressed the importance of development of bilateral relations between universities of our countries in the context of the current war, and in the prospects of the future recovery. The President of the European Communication Research and Education Association professor John Downey marked the promising start of cooperation between Odesa I. I. Mechnikov National University and Loughborough University, as the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding affirms. Rector of ONU, professor Vyacheslav Truba greeted the British colleagues and acknowledged the support of partner universities to maintain and to develop the scientific and educational potential of our University.

By signing the Memorandum the partners endorsed their intentions to arrange that type of cooperation, which embraces not only immediate needs, but contributes to development strategies of the both universities and comprises mutual benefits for the signatories. Within the participation of the Vice-rector for International Cooperation Professor Andrii Smitiukh and the head of the Office for International Relations Yurii Hrinchenko the parties have exchanged their views and expectations on the priority areas of the future partnership and perspective dimensions of the cooperation.

At the end the parties agreed that they share confidence about the success of the partnership, which relied on mutual respect, common understanding of the current challenges and the educational and scientific competencies of the both Universities.
