Odesa I. I. Mechnikov National University Strengthens Cooperation with Lithuania

On 13th February, 2026, as part of the visit of the Ambassador of Odesa in Lithuania, Alvydas Medalinskas, to Odessa I. I. Mechnikov National University, a meeting was held with the rector Vyacheslav Truba and the head of the international relations department Yurii Hrinchenko, during which the current state and prospects of cooperation with Lithuanian partners were discussed. With Alvydas Medalinskas’ assistance, an online meeting with the leadership of Klaipėda University was organized, headed by the rector Artūras Razbadauskas, and with the participation of the first vice-rector of ONU Maiia Nikolaeva and the vice-rector of ONU for international cooperation Andrii Smitiukh.

On the meeting the parties identified the priorities of the partnership, in particular, the conclusion of an agreement on academic mobility Erasmus +, the signing of a memorandum and the development of cooperation within the framework of EU-CONEXUS. The rectors also noted the positive results of the meeting and expressed hope for further intensification of mobility after the establishment of peace in Ukraine.
