Welcome to the official website of the Faculty of Biology at I. I. Mechnikov Odesa National University.
The Faculty of Biology is one of the University’s oldest and core academic units. We take pride in upholding the traditions established by world-renowned scholars I. I. Mechnikov, L. S. Tsenkovsky, I. M. Sechenov, and O. O. Kovalevsky, who stood at the origins of biological science.
Today, the Faculty’s development is driven by a collegial community of like-minded scholars working on pressing problems in the life sciences and training highly qualified specialists at all levels of higher education – Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral (third cycle).
Our faculty and students are actively engaged in wide-ranging international cooperation. Through their scholarly creativity and achievements, our researchers and alumni sustain the Faculty’s strong reputation in Ukraine and far beyond.
We will be glad to welcome into our academic family all those who see their vocation in serving one of the most important and fascinating fields – biology.
New horizons of a distinctive and unforgettable student life await you. Each of our academic programmes is intellectually enriching and practically valuable. We foster an environment conducive to students’ creative self-realization. Thanks to modern methodologies and technologies, students acquire deep professional knowledge, gain opportunities for internships across various European countries, and are active participants in international projects on an ongoing basis. The career pathways of our graduates are diverse: they successfully work as researchers, university lecturers, school teachers, and managers in multiple sectors of enterprise.
We warmly invite everyone to engage with us in our virtual biological space. The Faculty administration will give careful consideration to your proposals for improving our shared endeavours.
