Visegrad Gen Mini-Grant

Odesa I. I. Mechnikov National University invites students to apply for participation in the international youth mobility programme "Heritage Futures Lab: Youth Co-Creating Cultural Landscapes", implemented within the V4 Gen Mini-Grant Programme of the International Visegrad Fund.

The mobility programme will take place in Prague, Czechia, from 11 to 16 October 2026, bringing together students, young researchers and academic staff from Ukraine, Czechia and Poland to explore cultural heritage, cultural landscapes, sustainable development and international academic cooperation.

Following the selection process, 8 students from Odesa I. I. Mechnikov National University will be selected to participate in the programme.

Who can apply? 

Applications are welcome from students of Odesa I. I. Mechnikov National University who: 

• study geography, tourism, history, cultural heritage or related disciplines; 
• are interested in cultural heritage preservation, cultural landscapes and international cooperation; 
• have a sufficient command of English to actively participate in an international programme. 

What does the programme offer? 

Selected participants will have the opportunity to: 

• participate in an international youth mobility programme in Prague, Czechia; 
• work in international teams with students and researchers from Czechia and Poland; 
• attend expert lectures, workshops, field-based learning activities and interactive sessions; 
• receive an international Certificate of Participation; 
• develop intercultural communication skills and establish international academic contacts. 

Participation in the programme is free of charge for selected students. Eligible project costs will be covered by the International Visegrad Fund in accordance with the approved project budget.

Selection criteria

• Applications will be evaluated by the Project Selection Committee based on:
• motivation for participation;
• relevance of academic interests to the project topic;
• readiness to participate in an international academic environment;
• English language proficiency (assessed through the motivation letter).

Applicants will be informed about the selection results by e-mail. The list of selected participants will also be published on the official website of Odesa I. I. Mechnikov National University.
