Forty years of CCQ (club of cheerful and quick-witted)
General history:
In 1957 the Soviet television showed "Evening of cheerful questions ". The results of this program were of great importance, as the participants then were not professionals, but common people, who hasn’t had anything to do with the television earlier. But then the program has been closed. But that "jolt of fresh air " gave hope, that the youth has a chance of self-expression and at that time the idea to create "CCQ" occured.
The first program took place on 8th November, 1961. From the very beginning it was to resemble "intellectual football ". Even teams which were selected from the Moscow high schools consisted from 11 persons.
In 1964 the game also attracted players from Odessa. Of course, the first team consisted of one of the most progressive people - students of university.
The university management of that time represented by rector O.I.Jurzhenko and the secretary of a Communist Party committee I.M.Duzem took an active part in preparation of the project.
In 1968 the student's club decided to begin celebrating the faculties’ days. Students of mathematics and mechanics were the first ones to conduct this holiday. But last component of celebrating which took place on 1st April was the CCQ between students and teachers with the following teams: CCT (club of cheerful teachers) and CCS (club of cheerful students)
From the very beginning the CCQ wasn’t simply a toy. It was a unique place where it was possible to joke about social and political topics, though veiled. But the censorship grew more and more unsatisfied with this club, and in 1971 it was closed.
It happened unfortunately when the university was on the peak of its glory. The university teams became champions of numerous competitions, and not only in Odessa but in the country.
The CCQ revived in 1986. A new team of ONU was created. It is unknown who has the idea to call the team "Gentlemen". The head of this team was Svyatoslav Peleshenko - professor of physical faculty.
Among the future celebrities there were Oleg Filimonov, Eugeny Hajt and Jan Gelman in the team.
In 1987 " the Club of cheerful and quick-witted “gentlemen” of the Odessa National University " (at that time under the direction of S.Peleshenko) became the champion of the USSR. They needed three years to achieve this success.
Since 1994, after reception super a cup in Novosibirsk, the team began to hand over positions. And at all it was the most bad. Old players left the stage not leaving on themselves of replacement. And now the KVN at our university is born anew. There is a leader - the team of biological faculty " New reality " which this year has left on allukrainian a level. On games in a capital hailstones Kiev on September, 29 it has come in the ending. Final games will take place on November, 28 in a palace "October". And the team Odessa national stands to win.
